SnapMark ProPrivacy Policy
SnapMark Pro is a screenshot capture and annotation tool. This page explains, in plain language, exactly what the extension does and does not do with your data. The short version: there is no server, no account, and no tracking — everything happens locally in your browser.
Information we collect
None. SnapMark Pro has no backend server, no analytics, and no user accounts. We do not know who has installed the extension, what websites you visit, or what you capture.
How your screenshots are handled
When you capture a screenshot — a visible area, a selected region, a full scrolling page, or a screen/window outside the browser — the image is:
- Held temporarily in your browser's local extension storage (
chrome.storage.local), purely so the editor tab can load it. - Opened in the built-in editor, entirely within your browser — no image data is ever sent over the network.
- Only saved permanently when you explicitly choose to copy it to your clipboard or download it as a file — actions you control with a single click.
Undo/redo history while editing is kept in memory for that editor tab only and is discarded when you close the tab.
Permissions we use
Chrome requires extensions to declare every permission they need. Here is what each one is for and why SnapMark Pro asks for it:

Host permissions (all sites) | Let you capture and select a region on whatever page you're currently viewing — this is required for the region-select overlay to work on any site. |
scripting | Inject the selection overlay and the full-page scroll/stitch logic into the active tab when you start a capture. |
storage | Temporarily hold a captured image on your device while the editor tab loads it. |
clipboardWrite | Let you copy the finished, annotated image to your clipboard when you click "Copy". |
downloads | Let you save the finished image as a PNG file when you click "Download". |
contextMenus | Add the right-click menu options for starting a capture. |
offscreen | Host a hidden page needed to read a single frame from the screen or window you choose for "capture outside the page" — this page is created only during that capture and closed immediately after. |
Third-party services
SnapMark Pro does not integrate any analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs, and does not send data to any third-party service. There is nothing installed alongside the extension that monitors your activity.
Data retention
Because nothing is ever sent off your device, there is nothing for us to retain. Any temporary data the extension writes to local browser storage is overwritten by the next capture and is removed entirely if you uninstall the extension.
Children's privacy
SnapMark Pro is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone, regardless of age — the extension simply has no mechanism to collect information from any user.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date. Continued use of the extension after a change means you accept the revised policy.
